Description
Acetyl Tetrapeptide-9, commercially known as Dermican, is a specialized matrikine-inspired peptide that targets the dermal extracellular matrix for comprehensive skin renewal. It stimulates the synthesis of lumican, a critical proteoglycan that regulates collagen fibril organization and dermal architecture.
Beyond lumican, Dermican promotes the production of collagen type I, the predominant structural protein in human skin. This dual action on both collagen quantity and quality results in measurable improvements in skin firmness, density, and mechanical properties. The acetyl modification ensures efficient stratum corneum penetration.
Dermican is especially effective in anti-aging formulations targeting mature skin where collagen fragmentation and proteoglycan loss are primary concerns. Compatible with retinoids, antioxidants, and other peptides. Recommended use level: 1-4%.
